About the Book

This story is for all ages and requires 11.1 hours to read at a reading speed of 225 words per minute. An aristocratic genetic scientist from the UK named Locke possesses a sleep disorder he believes is much more than just a "condition." He conceives a grand plan to build a human machine that will reinstate the obsolete human race with a new idealism, and a new home. At the driving core of Locke's directive are: a mechanical typewriter with imaginary characters inside that guide and enlighten him, and, an enigmatic crystal light dome fixture that has hung in every bedroom he has slept in since his birth. Upon toggling the light switch in his bedroom to "on," the dome on his bedroom ceiling may or may not illuminate. Depending on that circumstance, Locke passes through a portal where he enters strange realities he believes are as real as any "true" reality, but with different logics and physics. While inside those "other" realities, infinite possibilities for carrying out any undertaking exist. Locke reasons DNA is not only the biological language and sculptor of humanity; DNA is also the impulsion of the universe and beyond. He believes DNA holds unimaginable secrets, and the sleeping mind is the key to decipher those secrets. Locke believes dreams are actual realities where hidden pathways will lead humanity out of this cage called the universe. Within a short time after temporarily moving to San Diego USA, Locke builds a male human machine and names him Mack. Subsequently, Locke meets an extraordinary woman named Karlota. She was clandestinely sent by the CIA to investigate Locke after he had purchased a LiNb03 crystal, which is the key component of his human machine. That crystal is on a "watch list" homeland security monitors. Locke is infatuated with Karlota. He then builds a female human machine whom Karlota names, Carla. Locke's sleep anomaly intensifies; he does know which reality is his true reality, if even a true reality exists. As this story evolves, a mysterious extraterrestrial craft Captained by a woman named Zula appears to Mack one night. She takes him on a journey aboard her ship back to early Earth where Mack witnesses a group of 4 humans walk out of a forest in a disoriented state; a fifth unique individual also emerges from the forest. Those 5 creatures are seemingly the only humans in the universe. An unexpected twist is revealed at the conclusion of this story.
