Werden Personen, die nach einer Position oder einem öffentlichen Amt streben, nach ihrem Motiv gefragt, so geben sie meist an, es nur aus Sorge um die Sache, das Land, den Staat, aus Selbstlosigkeit zu tun. Das Wort Macht in diesem Zusammenhang zu benutzen würde fast anstößig wirken und den Benutzenden schnell in die Nähe radikaler Positionen rücken. Trotzdem ist Macht ein alltägliches Phänomen, jeder Mensch verbindet mit Macht ein Bild, doch worum handelt es sich wirklich, wie ist Macht zu greifen, zu beschreiben? Die Arbeit beleuchtet Macht in Organisationen aus drei verschiedenen Positionen. Die handlungstheoretische Perspektive Max Webers, die systemthe-oretische Perspektive Niklas Luhmanns sowie das Machtkonzept Michel Croziers und Erhard Friedbergs werden erläutert und auf Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede untersucht. Auch wenn es selten thematisiert wird, so ist Macht doch der Kitt der Organisationen zusammenhält und funktionieren lässt. Die produktive Seite der Macht ermöglicht die Verwirklichung von Zielen durch kollektives Handeln. Wie sonst ist es zu erklären, dass Organisationen sich ständig reproduzieren, dass z. B. die Mitarbeiter einer Baufirma auch montags frühmorgens bei Nieselregen und drei Grad Außentemperatur auf der Baustelle erscheinen? Der Charme eines Vorgesetzten, der Appell an gemeinsame Werte würde dazu wahrscheinlich nicht immer ausreichen. Trotz klarer Organigramme, Strukturen und abgegrenzter Kompetenzen kommt es aber in Organisationen nach Managmententscheidungen oft nicht zum gewünschten Ergebnis. Es muss neben der klaren hierarchischen Ordnung noch "Dunkelfaktoren" geben, die die Wirkungen und das Zustandekommen von Entscheid
