About the Book

En el presente estudio sobre la magia, interesan sobre todo los aspectos lingüístico y semiótico. En el análisis, se parte de la siguiente definición de magia: La magia es lenguaje y símbolos objetivados para obrar con poder sobre el mundo, por parte de un mago ante el interés particular de un consultante en una comunidad, cuya interacción constituye un sistema. Esta definición puede descomponerse en sus elementos constitutivos de la siguiente manera: Magia Lenguaje Símbolo Objeto Obrar Poder Mundo Mago Interés particular Consultante Comunidad Interacción Sistema El estudio de estos elementos demanda herramientas analíticas específicas así 1. La lingüística y la semiótica para estudiar la expresión de la magia y sus formas de ejecución. 2. La teoría de la información y sus ciencias implicadas (Dianética y bioenergética), para evidenciar la forma como se alcanza la eficacia en la magia. 3. La teoría de la post-modernidad para dar cuenta de las características escénicas del ritual mágico. El teatro estético de la magia es fundamental para la producción de reacciones emocionales, conducentes a la enfermedad o a la curación por la acción mágica. 4. La teoría de los Actos de Habla y la filosofía de las Formas Simbólicas, para mostrar cómo logra operar la magia con poder sobre el mundo y sus criaturas. 5. La Teoría del Discurso, para establecer la estructura del discurso mágico. 6. La Teoría de los Símbolos, para establecer la estructura simbólica de la magia.
