About the Author: Dinesh Kumar is working as assistant professor in Department of Production and Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. He has completed his Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee in 2016 in supply chain management. He has authored several papers in reputed journals. His areas of expertise are perishable inventory planning, operations management, supply chain management and system dynamics. He has guided a number of master's thesis in his research acumen. He has authored various book chapters in several international editions. Currently he is the co-editor of the book entitled "Agri-Food 4.0: Innovations, Challenges and Strategies" (Emerald Publishing). He is the reviewer of various reputed international journals including, Operations Management Research, International Journal of Logistics: Research and Applications and Computers and Industrial Engineering. He is a life member of the Operations Research Society of India (ORSI).
Kanika Prasad is working as Assistant Professor in Production and Industrial Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur. She graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Sikkim in 2010 and completed her Master of Engineering in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2013, earning distinction in both degrees. She earned prestigious DST INSPIRE fellowship to pursue her doctoral research from Jadavpur University. She has been awarded with Ph.D. (Engg.) degree from Jadavpur University in 2016. She has worked with Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor for almost a year and taught various undergraduate and post graduate subjects, like Operations Research, Quality Control Assurance and Reliability, Manufacturing Planning and Control, Manufacturing Process etc. She has published several papers in peer reviewed international journals. With many publications in journal and conferences of international repute so early in her academic career, much is expected of her research career. She specializes in application of quality function deployment technique and multi-criteria decision-making to develop expert systems for selection and design problems in manufacturing. Of late sustainability and waste management domain interests her and she is working in that area. She has guided several UG and PG dissertations. She is also a regular reviewer of several journals of international repute.
