About the Author: Abigail Widynski is an out-of-the-box strategist and connector when she's 'in her element.' Excited by the opportunity to talk about 'growing things' and expansion of all shapes and sizes, organizations and people, Abigail brings to partnerships something exceedingly unique: creative discernment. Convinced that forward movement occurs only within a context of mutual trust, Abigail uses her 'connectiveness' to build profitable partnerships across finance and philanthropy. Making Money the Millennial Way is Abigail's debut book. She has been featured in venture capital and finance outlets including her tongue-in-cheek letter published on Techli.com entitled, 'Dear Recession, Thanks. A Letter from a Millennial MBA.' As Managing Partner of 5th Avenue Acquisitions, Abigail sourced and cultivated the firm's relationships with Venture Capital funds, PEGs & healthcare-centric Investment Banks in order to offer medical and dental clients the financing solution to meet their goals. On the client side, Abigail sourced financing deals ranging from solo-practices to multi-group facilities, labs to medical technology firms across the United States. A truly globally minded individual, Abigail applies her market acumen, international education and experience to various international development and finance initiatives through her firm Sovereign Venture Advisors. Abigail's consulting experience includes reporting in trust fund management at the World Bank and assessing micro-ventures for funding in Central Asia. Abigail believes investment is a function of both finance and personal time commitment. Abigail serves as a board member on three international non-profit boards. Through the Sovereign Venture Philanthropy Fund, Abigail centers both strategic and spontaneous giving on four pillars: trauma-focused healing programs and initiatives, women's micro-enterprise, bottom-of-the-pyramid familial agricultural initiatives, and Millennial literacy and education. Abigail holds a M.Sc. Management from Imperial College Business School in London. Her dissertation on mitigating risk in BRIC growth strategy earned a distinction. She led a team of four in two entrepreneurship competitions, landing in the top five finalists in both. She graduated American University with a B.A. in International Studies and holds a Certificate in Central European Economics and Politics from Univerzita Karlova in Prague.
