Muñeca y la China eran bailarinas exóticas, amigas del alma, compañeras inseparables en las buenas y en las malas, desde que se conocieron en Santo Domingo de Guzmán cuando la China fue a bailar en Caprichos de hombre, un club exclusivo para caballeros propiedad de una prima de Muñeca. Se fueron a vivir juntas cuando Muñeca llegó a Nueva York para protegerse de los lobos, pero la idea no fue aprobada por las enemigas de Muñeca en el barrio que la vio crecer, eso debía de ser una relación profana fuera de la gracia del señor. Cuando se retiraron del escenario establecieron su propio negocio con dos establecimientos, uno llamó Zapatos Rojos, Taberna y Cocina, y el segundo fue La cocina de la vieja Caridad, un restaurante con un menú caribeño. El nombre se debió a una de las abuelas de María Mercedes Caridad, la China. Salieron encinta cuando fueron a Santo Domingo a la boda de Miriam, amiga de la infancia de Muñeca. Conocieron a dos cuarentones en el bar del Hotel Jaragua, uno era irlandés y el otro japonés, andaban en una misión ecuménica por el caribe salvando almas; la primea noche tomaron demasiado vino y tuvieron que dormir en la suite con los dos caballeros, lo cual repitieron a la siguiente noche; cuando las niñas nacieron parecían gemelas, eran blancas como la leche, con los ojos azules y el cabello como el algodón. La niña de Muñeca vino con el espíritu de su madre, a los dieciséis ya contaba con los bríos y poderes de la mujer nueva, antes de los diecinueve ya era novia de alquiler, dama de compañía o escolta para hombres pudientes. Era mucho más completa y desarrollada, que todas las compañeras de su misma edad. Por culpa suya Muñeca entró en contacto con unos hombres malos quienes amenazaban su vida, su seguridad y su negocio. Una noche se armó de valor, colocó en un bulto negro de cuero un Smith & Wesson, una 38 y un chaleco a prueba de balas, la siguiente noche salió de cacería en defensa personal. Llegó a una ciudad se parada por tres horas de camino de su casa, estaba empapada bajo un aguacero, esquiva y desconfiada, tenia una cita con la muerte para la siguiente noche.

Esta es una novela picante para que te diviertas en tus momentos de ocio, esta llena de aventuras, peligros, amor, y crimen. Cualquier similitud con personas, situaciones y lugares no es intencional.
