When and how corruption began in my country of Hope.

It began when tradition and culture is a major determinant of behavior and behavior modification of every citizen. It all began with endless greed of all citizens' appetite or materialism, constant efforts to obtain and maintain higher status, power, wealth and control. It all began with endless endeavor by citizens of Hope to form alliance of one group or another in order to control and conquer. It all began when imported democracy is rebranded and redefined, to suit the agenda of the clansmen and women.

It all began when the leaders (minority) take advantage of the powerless (majority), knowing full well that the powerless are incapable of and no means to defend themselves against the overwhelming odds against them. It all began when our leaders in Hope, howbeit selected, set aside their moral and fiduciary responsibilities to the society at large, and instead pursue ill-gotten wealth accumulation recklessly, without any consideration for better standards of their kindred. It all began when those in authority abandon with pride, any calls to do the right things for the people. It all began when no one cares about anyone else but themselves.

It all began when ten percent of the population believe they're entitled to, by fiat, ninety percent of the nation's resources - as entitlements. To make matters worse, it all began when the remaining nighty percent of the citizens lack the ability to muster a united and undivided front and demand from their leaders, a little more than ten percent haphazard crumbs allocation of the national cake.

And yes, it all began when there is no strategic and continuous national agenda to spread equitably the wealth of the nation. It all began when leaders of Hope aid, abet and invite foreign individuals, governments and entities, to join their corruption enterprises. These corruption invaders seem to be beckoning to their bedfellows in the country of Hope, " We're come to take back your ill-gotten wealth. After all, we gave you the money from which you derived your lucrative corruption. Above all, we need your resources to develop our own nation."

It began when the youth or anyone for that matter, are not taught civic responsibilities and commitments to a nation.

It all began when the nations' economic resources are mismanaged by anyone in authority, with the full knowledge that no one can hold them accountable and if they're held accountable, nothing resulted from the exercise. It all began when education for all is prorated and assigned on the basis of economic status. It all began when the poor look up to their leaders and regard them heroes, regardless of what they do and how they do it.

It's self-evidence that corruption is endemic and unavoidable. However, there's still hope on the horizon for the nation of Hope. All that's needed, to create a better and equitable society is simply turn corruption in all of us into good corruption. This's where managing corruption is a viable option.
