Dramaturgia Asturiana. Textos rescatados; 59 'Pachín de Melás' estrenó la desaparecida zarzuela "Rayo de sol" (1914), con música de Francisco Rodríguez Lavandera y del señor Maya, que pareció floja en el desarrollo, y en la que se subrayaba la impericia al usar el castellano, antes de convertirse en director artístico de la Compañía Cómico-Lírica Asturiana, entre 1919-1927, que dirigía Isidoro Carballido. A esa etapa pertenecen sus aportaciones líricas al teatro asturiano. Esta "Maravilla" (1924), con bastantes números musicales, ahora rescatada, parece ser una reelaboración de aquella. Pero de "Maravilla" hay dos versiones, y sólo una de ellas es más fiel a la única reseña periodística de que disponemos de "Rayo de sol". En la segunda versión, con menos presencia del bable, menos coral y más explícita en las infidelidades de Nelo, está más elaborado el lenguaje de aquel Paquiyo, un asturiano que estuvo sirviendo al rey durante un año en Sevilla y se le ha pegado el andaluz. Son plenas las coincidencias temáticas de estas obras, que tratan sobre esta cupletista que recala en una pequeña aldea, para que cante y baile en el café de Leto éxitos como aquel tango del "Caravé", que se alojará en casa de Antón, típico de aldeano más fiel a las pravianas y tonadas, y que tras la experiencia no está dispuesto a que entren en su casa más cómicas y comediantas. Además de los pequeños encontronazos que todos tienen con este Pachín, hijo de Justo Severa, que ahora se ha convertido en Paquiyo, el tema principal son los celos de Carmela y las insinuaciones de Nelo a Maravilla, que presagian un conflicto amoroso que no llega a producirse, ya que todo termina felizmente, y con Maravilla huyendo para no estorbar aquel idilio entre aldeanos. El final se convertirá en un canto a la asturianía. La obras serían despojadas de su elemento lírico para convertirse en la comedia sentimental "Noche de luna" (1933), estrenada en el Teatro Dindurra por la Compañía Asturiana de Comedias, en la que Paquiyo explicitará su conversión en Pachu Severa.
