Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Tourismus - Sonstiges, Note: 1,3, Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Kempten, Veranstaltung: Reiseveranstaltung, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bereits seit über 100 Jahren kreuzen Schiffe zu touristischen Vergnügungen über die Meere dieser Welt. Doch waren diese Reisen stets nur einem sehr kleinen Personenkreis vorbehalten. Die Produkte wurden einfach am Markt platziert, ohne Rücksicht auf die Bedürfnisse potentieller Kunden zu nehmen. Seit einiger Zeit allerdings ist ein ganz anderes Bild zu beobachten: Millionen von Menschen mit verschiedensten sozialen Merkmalen, Ansprüchen und Interessen tummeln sich auf den Kreuzfahrtschiffen. Ein regelrechter Boom ist entstanden, allein in Deutschland stiegen die Passagierzahlen innerhalb eines Jahrzehntes um 130 Prozent. Wie lässt sich das erklären? Vor dem Hintergrund des allgemeinen gesellschaftlichen Strukturwandels der vergangenen Jahre (z.B. reiseerfahrenere bzw. kritischer werdende Kunden, gestiegenes Bildungsniveau, Herauskristallisierung diverser Lebensstile) differenzierten sich die Erwartungen und Ansprüche der einzelnen Kunden immer mehr voneinander, und zwar in allen Lebensbereichen. Reisen, speziell auch Kreuzfahrten, stellen dabei keine Ausnahme dar. Die Seereisenanbieter erkannten, dass sie den gewachsenen Anforderungen in ihrer bisherigen Vorgehensweise - den Gesamtmarkt mit einem Einheitsprodukt zu bearbeiten - in keiner Weise mehr Stand halten können. Infolgedessen begannen sie, marktsegmentorientiert zu operieren, sich also einzelnen Zielgruppen anzunehmen und ihr Angebot an deren spezifischen Bedürfnissen auszurichten. Ziel dieser Arbeit soll es sein, einen segmentspezifischen Überblick über den Kreuzfahrtenmarkt zu liefern, indem herausgearbeitet wird, welche Zielgruppen bei den Anbietern insbesondere Beachtung geschenkt bekommen, wobei die Bedürfnisse der einzelnen Teilmärkte ebenso im Vordergrund stehen werden wie die darauf ausgerichteten kreuzfahrtspe
