About the Author: Shauna M. Johnson, M.Ed, NBCT, is an elementary education teacher who earned her BA in elementary education from Weber State College in Ogden, Utah. Her passion for learning propelled her to obtain a master's in education, curriculum, and instruction at California State University, Bakersfield.
Johnson earned her National Board Certified Teacher status (NBCT) and has taught preschool through fifth grade over her twenty-five years in education. She has worked with students in Texas, Minnesota, Utah, California, and Virginia.
She's focused her career on creating optimal learning environments and curriculum for schools and school systems. She's worked as a mentor teacher, served on leadership teams, facilitated change in underperforming schools and helped write and implement new curriculum in mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, and writing.
Johnson now lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her amazing, supportive husband of twenty-five years. They have three grown daughters and one adult son.
