About the Book

Personal confidence makes or breaks you. Personal confidence lifts you from no one to someone. It takes you from where you are to a new life of your dream. I quickly learnt this at a tender age. As a young man growing up, in one of the remotest part of Papua New Guinea, I watched and learned how my dad, Mr. Hetri Bay Aidua, a living model on personal confidence and motivation in our home as well as the congregation he led as the champion leader and congregation chairman and a one-time president of Youth (The Acronym 'DYS' representing Dona Yu Seka; It means "New" or more appropriately known as "Young Blood of Dona") in my village. Dona is the little village I come from.Being successful as a company executive at a tender age, I started coaching professional development to interested business owners and general public. Over the last decade, I trained individuals how to build their own personal confidence and that of their workers to maximize their personal or organizational productivity. At this juncture, I realize that not only business people or workers but everyone in Papua New Guinea and in this respect, the whole world is asking the same question: What do I really need to help me achieve my life goals?Everyone from elementary school kids up to college students, the street vendors and beggars, the church goers, housewives and husbands, single mums and dads, business owners, to corporate executives, right up to the politicians at the corridors of power are asking the same question. This book serves to fill in the yawning gap left unfilled by the formal education system. In school you were taught to study hard, earn a college degree, and get a good job. What you were not taught and assessed in school was the employer's or boss's expectation on your performance, your knowledge, and skills. If your boss or employer considers you up to scratch, your boss can easily undermine your college degree and capitalize on your lack of job experience and other qualities to suppress your creative abilities. And this happens all the time. Even with high grades, you will still have difficulty getting a well-paid job because of your lack of experience and confidence or if you manage to just brush through and get a job, you still face difficulty getting a rise to a next level, rise in pay or improved conditions due to your lack of confidence and motivation. This book seeks to help you understand certain things you need to do to succeed in life, thus filling the yawning gap left unfilled by our formal education system. My approach to training, which I effectively learnt from my dad, is less theories and more practical work. It is more on doing. It is about 4Gs. Get down: Get dirty: Get up: Get dirt off, and walk free. This shows nothing comes for free
