About the Book

With lyrical text ideal for emerging readers and charming watercolors reminiscent of cherished childhood picture books, May All Your Weeds Be Wildflowers is the tale of Camelia Rose, a girl who is determined to create something remarkable. This story is a celebration of a strong sense of self and love of delving into work with a higher purpose, even in the face of challenges and opposition. Children will be very receptive to this tale of trusting your instincts, belief in potential, and respect for the natural world.
About the Author: For the past 20 years, Maria Marsten Snideman's career in early childhood development has included working with children pre K - 8 as a teacher and assistant counselor. She also organized workshops on positive body image, freedom from chemical dependency and bullying. Maria then worked for First 5 California doing both grant writing, recruited at risk children, created curriculum based on California state and district standards, and developed a summer school program for entering Kindergarten. Maria currently works for a children's museum creating playful exhibits for children to explore. Sara Marsten Bittner's educational background and professional experience is in writing, French language and literature, interior architecture and design. While pursuing graduate work, she wrote artist biographies and exhibition catalogue copy for a contemporary art gallery. Sara's work in interior architecture and design was inspired by working with traditional building methods to reconstruct Roman and Medieval villages in Southern France. She has participated in the Straw Bale workshop through Dominican College, and helped construct the Straw Bale Hermitage at Santa Sabina Retreat Center. Since 2000 she has built a design business through word of mouth recommendations and client referrals. Sara enjoys witnessing wonderful things growing in her garden, in the natural landscape and in children.
