About the Book
This illustrated story, told in verse, relates the tale of a proud bully who, given the gift of understanding animal speech, abandons school to start a prospective career at the zoo as an interpreter, "animal whisperer," and creature counselor, only to discover that the inhabitants there, have a decidedly different view of him, thus causing him to re-evaluate himself, his attitude, and his behavior. A fun, funny, and instructive tale, Me, You, and the Zoo also includes helpful advice for readers in dealing with bullies and bullying behavior in their own lives. 72 pages, black and white, illustrated per page, this "Poetoon Tale" is an indispensable book and ideal gift item for school-aged children, their parents, teachers, counselors, friends, and adversaries. Available both in print and ebook formats.
About the Author: Will Ruha is an award-winning songwriter, artist, poet, erstwhile entertainer, and author of children's books whose love of life, play, laughter, and truth is evidenced in his songs, poems, and illustrations, of which Me, You, and the Zoo is the second in his series of "Poetoon Publications" for children (and adults of dubious ages.) Following a 30-year career in multi-media (television, print, broadcast, online, and live entertainment), he "retired" in order to devote time to his family, friendships, and new creative ventures, including songwriting (with successful placements in motion pictures, television programs, and on various artists' CDs), and creation of a series of "Poetoon" publications: i.e., books that include entries that are "part poem, penned in light verse, and part line cartoon, drawn to disburse, fun, into which one can happily immerse, to cure the dread curse of boredom, with laughs from where last, the soul stored 'em." Look for his line of Poetoon publications that includes "To Life!," as well as "Me, You, & the Zoo," plus, forthcoming in 2017: "The Magical Tap Dancing Shoes," "Teddy," "The Goat in My Boat," and a second anthology, tentatively titled, "Life, Too."
