About the Book

"I love Margo LeDoux. I always have and I always will. I loved her, really, from the moment I set eyes on her: Tuesday morning, August 28, 1967, in Miss Peterson's second grade class, General John F. Reynolds Elementary School, Quaker Valley, PA..." From the author: A prequel to my coming-of-age novels You Don't Think She Is and Meeting Dennis Wilson, Meeting Margo tells the story of how seven-year-old Brian Pressley met and became best friends with Quebecoise tomboy Margo LeDoux. "Meeting Margo" was published as a Kindle edition in February 2017. For this PRINT edition, I have added a second novella, "Margo Moves In." Together, the two novellas carry reader and the plot to the beginning of my novel "You Don't Think She Is." My published novels evolved from a sprawling multi-binder mass of prose which I've both alluded to in those books and mined for short stories. In re-reading that work, I thought "You know, this isn't BAD..." At the same time, readers of "You Don't Think She Is" and "Meeting Dennis Wilson" kept telling me that they "missed the characters" and wanted more. So here's more!
About the Author: Author Max Harrick Shenk was born and raised in Carlisle, PA, and earned his MFA in creative writing and MA in education from Goddard College in Vermont. His stories, set in the fictitious town of Quaker Valley, PA ("Like Gettysburg," says one of the characters, "except nothing happened here"), feature a core group of characters in a continuous timeline spanning from their childhood in the 1960s to the present. This includes the novellas "Margo Moves In" and "Meeting Margo," two novels ("You Don't Think She Is" and "Meeting Dennis Wilson"), a short story collection ("What's With Her?"), a satirical book of children's book reviews ("Eva Kelly's Book Of Book Reviews"), and several short works. He is currently drafting several new traditional works while continuing the storyline into the present day via multiple Facebook pages, through which the characters interact with each other and with readers. Max lives in central Vermont.
