About the Author: Dr. Peter Kneitz, geb. 1968, lebt in der Nähe von Köln und ist Ethnologe. Er forscht u.a. zu verschiedenen Aspekten der Modernisierungsdynamik in Afrika, hat seit 1998 mehrere Forschungsprojekte auf Madagaskar durchgeführt und dazu veröffentlicht. Der Zusammenhang von Sozialisation, Geburtenrückgang und Gesellschaftsentwicklung wurde bereits 2009 in einem grundlegenden Artikel vorgestellt (Homo Socialis in Schwierigkeiten. Befund und kulturtheoretische Perspektiven, Anthropos 104).
