About the Author:

Anish Khan is an assistant professor in the Chemistry Department and Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research, Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In 2010 he earned a PhD at Aligarh Muslim University, India. He has research experience of working in the field of synthetic polymers and organic-inorganic electrically conducting nanocomposites. In 2010-2011 he completed postdoctoral work at the School of Chemical Sciences, University Sains Malaysia (USM) in electroanalytical chemistry. He has written more than 150 research papers, 20 books, and 70 book chapters published by a referred international publisher. He has attended more than 20 international conferences/workshops and completed around 20 research projects.

Mohammad Jawaid is a High Flyer Fellow (professor) at the Biocomposite Technology Laboratory, Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. He is also a visiting professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, King Saud University, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His areas of research interests include hybrid reinforced/filled polymer composites, advance materials (graphene/nanoclay/fire-retardant), lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer composites, modification and treatment of lignocellulosic fibers and solid wood, biopolymers, and biopolymers for packaging applications, nanocomposites and nanocellulose fibers, and polymer blends. He earned a PhD at Universiti Sains Malaysia and has published 34 books, 65 book chapters, more than 300 peer-reviewed international journal papers, and five published review papers under top 25 hot articles in ScienceDirect during 2016-2019.

Abdullah Mohammed Ahmed Asiri is a professor in the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University. He earned a PhD in 1995 at the University of Wales College of Cardiff, UK, on tribochromic compounds and their applications. He is the chairman of the Chemistry Department, King Abdulaziz University, and the director of the Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research. He is a highly cited researcher according to Thomson Reuters. He is the director of the Education Affairs Unit, deanship of Community Services. He is a member of the advisory committee for advancing materials for the National Technology Plan, King Abdulaziz City of Science and Technology, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is interested in color chemistry, synthesis of novel photochromic and thermochromic systems, synthesis of novel colorants and coloration of textiles and plastics, molecular modeling, applications of organic materials into optics (such as OEDS, high-performance organic dyes and pigments), new and novel applications of organic photochromic compounds, organic synthesis of heterocyclic compounds as precursors for dyes, synthesis of polymers functionalized with organic dyes, preparation of some coating formulations for different applications, and photodynamics using organic dyes and pigments, virtual labs, and experimental simulations. He is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Saudi Chemical Society, Journal of King Abdulaziz University, Pigment and Resin Technology Journal, Organic Chemistry Insights, Libertas Academica, and Recent Patents on Materials Science. He holds a professional membership in many international and national societies and professional bodies.

Wei Ni earned a BE in polymer materials science and engineering at Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China (2005) and a PhD in chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS), Beijing, China (2011). After a research fellow experience at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore and the University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland, he became a research scientist at Panzhihua University, Panzhihua, China and a member of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) and the American Vacuum Society (AVS). He has published over 40 peer-reviewed SCI papers, two book chapters, and six authorized patents. His research interests include advanced nanomaterials for energy storage and environmental protection.

Mohammed Muzibur Rahman earned a BSc (1999) and an MSc (2001) at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He earned a PhD (2007) at the Chonbuk National University, South Korea. From 2007 to 2011 he was a postdoctoral fellow and an assistant professor at pioneer research centers and universities in South Korea, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. Since 2011 he has been an associate professor at the Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research (CEAMR) and the Chemistry Department at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He has attended more than 245 international and domestic conferences, published several book chapters, and edited ten books. His research work includes photocatalysis, semiconductors, nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, nanotechnology, electrocatalysis, sensors, ionic liquids, surface chemistry, electrochemistry, nanomaterials, etc.
