Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich BWL - Offline-Marketing und Online-Marketing, Note: 1,3, Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit folgenden Fragen: Was ist das Metaverse und inwiefern kann es die Geschäftstätigkeiten im Marketing & Vertrieb erweitern und optimieren? Wie wird die Entwicklung aussehen und welche Chancen wie auch Risiken ergeben sich durch eine Partizipation? Mit der Umbenennung des Facebook Konzerns in Meta im Jahr 2021 verbreitet der CEO Mark Zuckerberg die Idee seines Metaverse. Populäre Medien und öffentlicher Meinungsaustausch erzeugten zuletzt weitreichendes Interesse, da besonders starke Emotionen aufgrund der futuristischen Technologie damit verknüpft sind und es werden Zukunftsversionen aufgestellt, wie das Metaverse aussehen wird. Einiges deutet darauf hin, dass eine neue digitale Revolution - ähnlich der Einführung des Internets - bevorsteht. Bis es dazu kommt, sind diverse technologische als auch gesellschaftliche und regulatorische Etappen zu überwinden. Auch in der Marketer-Welt ist das Thema bereits angekommen. Wenn man Marketer heute fragt, wie sie mit der digitalen Transformation in ihrem Unternehmen Schritt halten, wird der Begriff Metaverse fallen. Jedoch ist zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt nicht eindeutig bestimmt, wie jenes genau definiert und inwiefern es einen Einfluss auf die Unternehmenstätigkeiten nehmen wird. Um Wettbewerbsvorteile zu erzielen, stoßen bereits heute Unternehmen, überwiegend aus dem B2C, in das Metaverse vor und tasten sich an die neuartige Technologie heran. Durch einen frühen Eintritt in diesen neuen Markt können Marken ein innovatives Image vermitteln und zudem Kunden ein neuartiges Einkaufserlebnis bieten. Auch für den B2B-Sektor kommen verschiedene Anwendungsmöglichkeiten in Betracht. Unter anderem könnte das Metaverse für diverse Tätigkeiten genutzt werden, wie beispielsweise für Meetings und Veranstaltungen, die Pflege von Kundenbe
