Einige Teile in der Novelle werden näher analysiert, welche von großer Bedeutung für die Seminararbeit sind. Neben den Verhältnissen zu den Menschen wurden auch Herrschaftsverhältnisse erwähnt. Zudem wurde auch das zentrale Thema der Gerechtigkeit und des Rechtes in der Novelle bearbeitet. Hier erhebt sich die Sphäre des Rechts und die ideale Welt des Rechts zeigt sich durch Intrigen und Unterschlagung. Kohlhaas Kampf einer Einzelperson um das Recht stellt eigentlich die Strebung des Gesamtvolkes nach Änderungen dar. Das ausdrucksvolle Ereignis am Ende der Geschichte ist noch zu betonen, als der Hauptprotagonist schließlich den Sieg erlangt, welchen er mit seinem Leben bezahlen müsste. In dieser Seminararbeit wurde auch analysiert, wie Kohlhaas sein verachtetes Rechtsgefühl zum größeren Schaden geführt hat. Er hat sein Tod als gerechte Strafe akzeptiert. Kohlhaas beginnt in seinem stark entwickelten Rechtsgefühl den Kampf mit Staat und Gesellschaft, um sich selbst sein Recht zu verschaffen.Sein Recht wird ihm schließlich zuteil, aber als Sühne für die Verletzung der Rechtsordnung muss sein Haupt fallen. Kleists Wirklichkeitssinn hat ein Meisterstück packender Darstellung geschaffen. Kohlhaas ist nur so lange Räuber und Mörder, als ihm sein Recht versagt ist.Dann besteigt er ruhig das Schaffot, die Notwendigkeit des Staates und der menschlichen Gesetze anerkennend. Die Darstellung ist lebendig und stets vorwärtsdrängend.
