About the Book

When Micky and Kana discover their fridge has gone missing they are naturally quite baffled. With the help of their curious friends from the Tottenham Marshes they invent a number of apparently stupid explanations for the loss of the fridge - but these bizarrely are to come true. The fridge returns - it is a walk-in model which leads into a surreal kingdom and a spectacular ending. ###### A remarkable fusion of Charles Dickens, Withnail and I, John Pilger, William Blake and much more besides. Absurdly funny, breathtaking in scope, originality and imagination, supremely accomplished and readable, a politically charged disection of contemporary London, a work of outrageous ambition.
About the Author: The Missing Fridge is dedicated to P, who is represented by the character of Felix. P was a friend and working colleague who very sadly is no longer with us. As tragic as it was, P's demise also triggered a period of considerable troubles in my own life. Out of this strife, however, there grew a sense of magnanimity, and the idea that I might rise above my problems and bestow upon the world some ridiculous but magical gift. Thus I set to work, and before long I found myself completely inspired: I was literally dreaming parts of the book. This is my first novel and, though as yet I haven't conquered the world, I remain enormously proud of my achievement. My only fear is that life might begin to mirror art: that the same characters whom my hero Micky Taylor lambasts - Bruce Springsteen, Martin Amis and Natalie Imbruglia among them - will now seek to exact their revenge on me in the same way that they go after Micky. Should Eamonn Holmes be of a mind to sue me for portraying him as God, I'm sure it would make for an interesting court case - and frankly I could do with the publicity. ###### You can find out more about The Missing Fridge at my blog, johnhigson.wordpress.com.
