Projektarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich BWL - Offline-Marketing und Online-Marketing, Note: 1,3, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Veranstaltung: E-Business, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Grund dafür, dass Menschen auf den Handel angewiesen sind, ist die geographische Verteilung der Naturressourcen. Jedoch ist der Handel von der Beweglichkeit, d.h. von der Mobilität des Menschen und seiner Sprache, also der Kommunikation abhängig. Somit stellt die Mobilität für den Menschen einen existenziellen Faktor dar. Haben sich früher die beiden Begriffe "Mobilität" und "Informationsaustausch" zum Teil noch gegenseitig ausgeschlossen, hat man es heute dem technischen Fortschritt zu verdanken, dass man an einem Punkt angelangt ist, der diese gegenseitige Ausgrenzung aufhebt. War es vor kurzem noch der Begriff des "Electronic Commerce" (E- Commerce) mit dem man konfrontiert wurde und der sich nun etabliert hat, taucht auch schon das nächste Schlagwort am Horizont auf. "Mobile Commerce" (M- Commerce), korrekterweise eigentlich "Mobile Electronic Commerce". Allgemein kann man sagen, dass "M- Commerce" genau dort ansetzt, wo die Möglichkeiten des "E- Commerce" aufhören, nämlich in der vollständigen Mobilität des Zugangs zu Informationen. Daher kann man "M- Commerce" auch als Nachfolger des "E- Commerce" verstehen. Das Handy ist heutzutage zu einem unerlässlichen Medium der modernen Gesellschaft geworden und die Anzahl der Handybesitzer nimmt stetig zu. Viele sehen in der weiten Verbreitung des Mobiltelefons ein großes Potential für mobile Anwendungen. Optimisten sehen vor allem sehr gute Chancen in Europa, da hier die Zahl der Handynutzer viel höher liegt als die Zahl der Menschen, die über einen Online- Zugang verfügen. Im Vergleich zu den USA, wo der herkömmliche Internetanschluss wesentlich verbreiteter ist, als die Nutzung des Handys, stellt Europa einen riesigen Markt für "M- Commerce" dar.
