About the Book

"The transcendental constant that unites us all is simply LOVE...".Within these pages you will find themes relating to hope, love, innocence, life's trials, coming of age, good and evil, aging, inspiration, reflection. In addition, there is a section dedicated to song lyrics which echo these themes. From the Preface: That which is fostered from muse to mentation, and finally to script; these renderings, insofar, that I have striven to impart, are nothing more, nor less, than the simple truth. The truth inherent in inspiration, whose origin and impetus transcend mortal clarity. From the Introduction: In the course of a life-time, we will all gain experience; forsake our innocence; and ripen to maturity. We will occupy a social class. We will age, face adversity, affect and will have been affected. Our history as a race, is fraught with cataclysm, war and discord, yet we have endured and prospered. The transcendental constant that unites us all is simply LOVE...Modus Vivendi: The greater truth; love on a global scale. An unspoken, sympathetic pact, fostering peaceful subsistence between individuals, races and cultures, despite diversity of religion, custom, belief and ideolo
About the Author: A self-avowed, X generation suburban dreamer, A.B. Ciddio has been writing poetry for more than two score. As a poet, composer and multi-instrumentalist, the second-generation immigrant has amassed a respectable catalog. Hailing from a small border town in Ontario, Canada, Ciddio, a reluctant pragmatist by necessity, and ardent aesthete by nature contrives his emotive ponderings from a collage of nature, family, music and small-town virtue. Offered forth, this modest work constitutes his first organized volume. A note from the author: Each poet is reborn; imbued with a motely, part inborn, part experience and part the breaths of those whom have inspired. Although these writings encompass an ever-evolving collage of classic and contemporary influence, my core poetical models are: Charles Dickens (for his mastery of allegory), William Blake (for his philosophy and critique). Rudyard Kipling (for his intuitive speculation), Robert Frost (for his rural insight and virtue) and Edgar Allen Poe (for his dark romanticism). It is my sincerest hope that you, the reader, find something in these works that reach you on some introspective level.
