About the Book

On the morning of her sixteenth birthday Molly wakes feeling sad and unloved. She is late to school and while sitting in lunchtime detention begins to write in her journal. If only she can work out what happened to make her shy and unpopular she could undo it all and become the girl she dreams about. Then she auditions for the school play and accidentally kisses the boyfriend of the most popular girl in school and everything begins to unravel. After an accident on her bike she switches schools and her life begins to turn around. Now a senior at high school she meets the twins, Debbie and Rose, who take Molly under their wings and encourage her to reach her dreams. When she meets Andrew everything seems to be perfect and Molly can see her fairytale ending. But when school finishes and all of her friends move away Molly soon discovers that her dreams were just illusions. Her world quickly begins to unravel and she falls into a nightmare that she can't wake herself from. Soon she makes the biggest mistake of her life. All she can think of doing is running away before it is too late.
About the Author: Dayle Ashton was born in the Blue Mountains, Australia. Her family moved around New South Wales while she was growing up but she now lives near Canberra where she is studying creative writing. Dayle spent her teenage years writing poetry and fiction and has published three collections of poetry including Ain't Life (2012), Forever and Always(2013) and From a Café Window (2015). Dayle has also published poems in the First Refuge anthology (2016) and Love: A Collection of Poetry and Prose on Loving and Being Loved (2016). Molly's Dreams is her first novel. 'I have a strong sense of social justice and hope that infiltrates my writing, particularly human rights and feminist issues which I feel very strongly about.' 'When I am not writing I like to dance around the house singing or wake early in the morning to listen to the birds talk about their day. Sometimes I walk in the shadows with my eyes open, seeking the moonlight. I also like to find the time and space for playing my guitar, reading, drawing, sleeping and other ways of procrastinating.'
