We'll bet every last one of you has done it once or twice. Maybe just on accident, when you were a kid. Could be, you didn't celebrate the occasion but it was all around you, and anyway, it was fun to be part of, even if you found out later you were doing it wrong. Or maybe you're a weirdo like us and you do it on purpose. We're talking about singing the wrong lyrics to a Christmas song. No kidding, we're both in our thirties and we still love how a mondegreen becomes, in our imaginations, a catalyst of transformation into wholly different story. And of course, those stories are warped. We're Nick and Nik, after all, and we've been at this for most of our lives. It's something we do almost automatically with songs we like, or songs we're way too familiar with - like Christmas music. It's not hard to mishear a lyric of a Christmas tune, after all. There's dozens of versions of the most common ones, and at least a few for the lesser-knowns. Plus, you've heard those songs so many times over so many years that often you're only half-listening. Blend those together with a goofy sense of humor and what follows is the concoction. It's weird candy, but that's what makes it fun. Want some?
