Allgemein bekannt ist, dass Images je nach ihrer Ausrichtung Zuspruch oder Ablehnung hervorrufen können. Image oder Selbstdarstellung bildet somit die Basis von Bewertungen. Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich einerseits mit den Hintergründen die zur Entstehung und Ausgestaltung von Selbstbildern (Images) führen, wobei vor allem der Ehrbegriff mit seinen verschiedenen Komponenten zum Tragen kommt. Diese Ehre gilt es andererseits zu erlangen bzw. sich ihrer würdig zu erweisen. Dementsprechend steht der Imagebegriff als Abbild einer gesellschaftlichen Wertung im Mittelpunkt von Interaktionen, wo es vor allem darum geht, die eigene Ehre zu sichern und nicht sein Gesicht zu verlieren. Ehre, Image, Moral - das gesellschaftliche Miteinander öffnet jeden Tag aufs Neue seine Arenen der Interaktion. In der Regel sind die Auseinandersetzungen in diesen gesellschaftlichen Arenen recht harmlos, jedoch entscheidet nicht der Zufall über Sieg oder Niederlage, sondern das persönliche Geschick eines jeden das eigene Selbst richtig in die Auseinandersetzungen einzubringen.
