Er baut mit Uri eine kleine Farm auf, versucht Jaela von ihren Ängsten zu heilen und nimmt an einer Demonstration und an anderen verbotenen Spielen teil. Er beschuldigt den Propheten Samuel ein Reaktionär gewesen zu sein und spielt ein Maskenspiel mit Ruti... Ein Entwicklungsroman, die inneren und äußeren Kämpfe eines Jungen, der das bürgerliche und großstädtische Leben - für das er zunächst bestimmt schien - plötzlich verlassen muss und sich in einem Kibbuz in Israel wiederfindet. Vor dem Leser entfaltet sich eine lebendige und ungewöhnliche Perspektive auf das Leben im Kibbuz.
About the Author: Reuven Kritz, geboren in Wien, aufgewachsen in einem israelischen Kibbuz; studierte in Jerusalem Literaturwissenschaft, lehrte an der Universität Tel Aviv und als Gastprofessor in USA und in Heidelberg, wo er lebt und arbeitet. Der in Israel bekannte Autor schrieb Romane und Erzählungen, historische und politische, lyrische und fantastische; reich an Milieu und leisem Humor. Vielfalt und Humor kennzeichnen auch seine akademischen Veröffentlichungen: Strukturen und Motive des Grotesken in deutscher russischer und hebräischer Literatur, hunderte Interpretationen von Kurzgeschichten und Gedichten. Aufmerksamkeit erregten eine zweibändige Einführung in die Lyrik mit Beispielen aus der Weltliteratur und eine dreibändige Geschichte der Kibbuzliteratur.
