Was geschah mit Christoph von Hellendorf? Vor über vierzig Jahren hat der Rechtsanwalt Dr. Stefan Oppenberg seinen Jugendfreund, mit dem er einst in dem österreichischen Jesuitenkolleg Stella Matutina die Schulbank drückte, aus den Augen verloren. Als Pensionär macht er sich auf die Suche nach ihm. Doch je weiter er die Spur seines Freundes verfolgt, desto mehr Abgründe und Verstrickungen, die ihre Wurzeln in den Wirren einer dunklen Zeit haben, deckt er auf. Alles scheint mit allem verbunden. Stefan erkennt: Es war ein tief in seiner Familiengeschichte verankertes Schicksal, dem Christoph seinen Trotz entgegenwarf - und seinen radikalen Kampfeswillen, der ihn schon in der Jugend oftmals antrieb, Abenteuer am Rand der Legalität und darüber hinaus zu wagen. Ein Zug, der Stefan Oppenberg, der sich lieber gewaltfrei in den Grenzen von Recht und Ordnung bewegt, fremd ist. Paradoxerweise treibt ihn nun aber die Suche nach dem draufgängerischen Freund selbst über eben jene Grenzen hinaus. Dies ist die Geschichte einer eigenartigen Freundschaft, in welcher das zerrissene Lebensgefühl der Nachkriegsgeneration aufflammt - mit ihrer großen Sehnsucht nach Heilung.
About the Author: Hermann A. Griesser, Dr.phil., geb. 1937 in Landeck (Tirol), studierte Germanistik, Philosophie, Geschichte, Rechtswissenschaften. Er war leitender Redakteur bei deutschen Tages- und Wochenzeitungen ("Die Welt", "Rheinischer Merkur", "Münchner Merkur"), dann Chefredakteur der regionalen Zeitungsgruppe Dewezet (mit "Deister- und Weserzeitung", Schaumburger Zeitung" u.a.).Daneben schrieb er Rundfunkreportagen und Hörspiele. In seinem vieldiskutierten Buch "Konfisziert" (Wien 1986) befasste er sich mit der Geschichte der neuen Republik Österreich und deren Haltung zur bisherigen Herrscherfamilie der Habsburger. Zugleich war (und ist) er als Essayist freier Mitarbeiter bei verschiedenen Zeitschriften und Buchveröffentlichungen (u.a. "Der selbstbewusste Bürger", 1995). Das vorliegende Werk ist sein erster Roman. Hermann Aloys Griesser lebt seit 2002 in Wien.
