About the Book

This book is the first of its kind. At the age of 20, Jeff VanNote entered the mortgage industry at full speed in December of 2007. The mortgage business never made sense to VanNote which caused him to spend most of his time trying to figure out bank guidelines and loan products to be able to properly educate and prepare consumers for home ownership. This book takes you on VanNote's journey from the football field directly into the collapsing real estate and financial market, which some say was the worst economic time since the Great Depression. Everything VanNote suggests and teaches in this book are based off of his own personal experience, having seen hundreds of loan scenarios and closing 1,000+ clients mortgages over the last decade. Real Estate and Mortgage Lending are not very transparent industries and there are many moving parts, and while not one person can change the game, VanNote sets out with the goal in mind to bring transparency to these two out dated industries and properly educate consumers on the most responsible lending and borrowing practices to help prevent another 2008-Like crisis from happening again. There will always be desperation and greed in the world, especially in industries where there is a lot of money at risk and changing hands. The more awareness we bring to the forefront of consumers mindsets, the more likely we are to succeed as a country, and the higher likeliness we are to limit real people from getting hurt financially, and worst case scenario, losing most likely their biggest investment ever, their home. You're never too young to start planning for your future, and you're never too young to start learning about Real Estate and Money for Real Estate.
About the Author: Jeff VanNote had dreams of playing in the NFL. There were many obstacles in his way once selecting Fordham University to play college football at. After his freshman season his head coach got fired and a new regime took control. This new coach wanted his recruits and his players to get the opportunity to play. Leading up to his sophomore season, VanNote spent every day training to get bigger, faster, and stronger. The hopes of getting on the field looked promising until the week before the season opener he suffered a season ending injury. The doctors deemed the injury high risk and career ending. VanNote was never one to follow rules, and that spring, VanNote was back on the field catching balls and competing. Heading into his junior year, he spent his summer training hard, and preparing for the upcoming season. He worked his way into a starting positon on special teams, and impressed coaches with his resiliency, effort, and determination. Fordham won the Patriot League Championship and made it into the playoffs that season. Heading into his senior season (Junior eligibility) VanNote knew the sky was the limit. That spring season he was working out with the starters. The day before the spring game, in which all alumni come back and watch, VanNote was called into the coach's office to receive his spring practice evaluations. Excited and eager VanNote was to hear the good reviews, turned out to be the most deflating moment of his life. His coach notified him that the team needed to get younger and was headed in a different direction, without VanNote on the roster for the upcoming season. Dreams Crushed. VanNote then took his same work ethic, determination and commitment into the mortgage industry. He made an immediate impact in the New York marketplace and was given the nickname "The Closer", for being the go-to guy to get tough loans closed. From there he went on to receive the most prestigious industry award "40 under 40 most influential mortgage people in America" 3X under 30. His nickname evolved to The Mortgage Quarterback. VanNote has always kept an optimistic view on life even though his dreams and fate were determined by another human. VanNote has helped a lot of people follow their dreams. He knows what it is like to have dreams taken away suddenly and that is how he made a name for himself, not by just closing loans and making money, but by never giving up on anyone that had a dream of one day accomplishing home ownership, the correct way.
