Das Ziel dieser Arbeit dient einer kritischen Beleuchtung der neuesten Erkenntnisse über die demotivierende Wirkung von Achtsamkeit in Relation zu ihrer Relevanz für den Berufsalltag. Der theoretischen Einführung über die Entstehungs- und Verbreitungsgeschichte von Achtsamkeitspraktiken in der heutigen Gesellschaft folgt ein Überblick über die Studieninhalte und -ergebnisse von Havenbrack und Vohs. Für eine möglichst adäquate Beantwortung der Frage werden zunächst die Begriffe Motivation, Leistung und Leistungsmotivation voneinander abgegrenzt und in den Kontext des gesellschaftlichen Wandels gestellt. Der Hauptteil dieser Arbeit widmet sich im Anschluss der Untersuchung von Forschungsergebnissen über die Auswirkungen achtsamkeitsbezogener Interventionen am Arbeitsplatz.
