About the Book

A través de tres personajes: el teniente militar de contraguerrilla, su tío Agustín (mayordomo de la finca de su hermano) y su hijo Juancho, estudiante de periodismo; aprovechando las historias que el oficial militar les narra sobre sus aventuras de contraguerrilla contra bandoleros liberales, conservadores, cachiporros, chulavitas, guerrilleros, insurgentes y más tarde con los carteles de la mafia narcos y paracos. Los personajes se traban en un contrapunteo cuentero, presentando a la escena pública los periodos más terribles de la historia negra de Colombia a partir del "Bogotazo", cuando se generó la violencia más reciente del país, desde los años 50 hasta la actualidad. A través de esa conocida historia que sirve de eje narrativo a toda la novela, se cuenta todo un periodo de violencia partidista, del llamado Frente Nacional, el lapso narcoterrorista, paramilitar, narco político, parapolítico, para terminar con los episodios más sangrientos registrados en la vida nacional, de las guerrillas modernas, los carteles de la mafia, los paracos, los falsos positivos y sus consecuencias en la vida política de los últimos gobiernos. El autor trata de recrear una parte de la historia oscura y negra del país, con personajes a veces reales a veces ficticios, tratando de rescatar la memoria colectiva que se ha contado y se viene contando a medias o que se esconde otras veces por parte de las élites detrás de la falsa propaganda antisubversiva, para que la verdad de los hechos nunca se conozcan, queden en la impunidad y seguir así campantes eternamente en su reino infernal de la mafia paramilitar del Estado narcoterrorista, mecanismo de poder creado por la élite criminal, para el sometimiento total del pueblo marginado. Finalmente, se traen a la memoria las experiencias políticas e históricas de países vecinos, que con similares procesos, se debaten en una lucha de clases fratricida, como es el caso del hermano pais Venezuela, que sirve de laboratorio social, para que con base a sus errores y logros, se tomen decisiones precisas y sabias para enrumbar al pais por el camino del éxito y lograr un futuro mejor, para realizar la segunda independencia y la paz total que tanto necesita Colombia, pero que es construcción de todos los ciudadanos.
