Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Die Diplomarbeit mit dem Thema „Multimedia City Marketing - Konzeption und Erstellung einer Internet-Realisierung für Städte und Gemeinden" versucht zwei Anliegen zu erörtern. Der erste Ansatz beschäftigt sich mit der Materie des City Marketing / Management. Es werden die Grundzüge des konventionellen öffentlichen Marketings angesprochen und beleuchtet. Der zweite Schwerpunkt liegt auf dem Medium Internet. Hierbei werden die Marketingaktivitäten einer Stadt / Gemeinde mit Unterstützung des Word-Wide-Web behandelt. Als Zielgruppe der Arbeit können vor allem kommunale Entscheidungsträger genannt werden. Dabei soll den Interessierten ein umfassender Überblick verschafft werden. Ebenfalls werden Chancen und Risiken einer Internet-Präsenz veranschaulicht. Dies wird z.B. anhand der folgenden Fragen dargelegt: - Welche (Marketing-) Instrumente sind notwendig? - Welche Aspekte sollten besonders beachtet werden? - Welche Abläufe werden vereinfach oder fallen weg? - Welche Tätigkeiten kommen hinzu? - Warum kann das Vorhaben scheitern bzw. was macht ein erfolgreiches Konzept aus? - Welche Kosten spielen eine Rolle bzw. wo kann man Ersparnisse erzielen? Auch kleinere Gemeinden und Regionen haben die Möglichkeit durch das Medium Internet eine adäquate und nicht unbedingt kostenintensive Lösung zu finden. Es eröffnen sich neue Möglichkeiten des Marketings und der direkten Kommunikation mit den entsprechenden Zielgruppen (Bürger, Besucher, Wirtschaft, etc.). Weiterhin soll gezeigt werden, daß ein multimediales Konzept nicht nur aus der reinen (optischen) Internet-Seite besteht und das vielen anderen Aspekten eine enorme Wichtigkeit zukommen kann, wie beispielsweise E-Mail oder Datenbanken. Ziel der Arbeit ist es einer Stadt oder Gemeinde die Möglichkeit zu geben einen ersten Einblick in die Materie Internet zu bekommen. Die Dokumentation kann als eine Art Leitfaden verstanden werden. Der Schwerpunkt liegt darauf, einen fundierten "Überblick" zu
