About the Book

Murder on the Orbital Express: THE ORBITAL EXPRESS to LUNA: It's the most luxurious way to travel since the Titanic and the Hindenburg. Luxury, while fabulous, is no guarantee that you will get safely to your destination, as survivors of both those vessels might have agreed. Danuta Stanislawska had thoughts like that in the back of her mind, when she and her parents arrived to board the 60-story-tall flying skyscraper for the trip of a lifetime, but she is working hard not to think about those ghost passengers. As the trip progresses, the passengers of this vessel are more than interesting enough to keep those thoughts of long-ago disasters far, far away.

By the time the VSS Robert H. Goddard arrives safely at the Deep Space Gateway in orbit around the Moon, any passengers worrying about the ghosts of Titanic or Hindenburg victims are breathing a big sigh of relief as they prepare to disembark. But not all passengers will be breathing that sigh of relief, and not all of them will be disembarking under their own power. For those who are sure their worries are over, events are about to prove their optimism premature... And the directors of the Gateway will unexpectedly find themselves thrust into the role of homicide investigators, unable to get much information from the Flight Marshal, who remembers nothing-

Since the victim of the homicide was to replace the retiring Station Commander, Timofey Smirnoff, a quick investigation and resolution is of the greatest interest to that gentleman. The sooner someone can take over and Smirnoff can return Earthside, the fewer months of rehab he will need before he's fit to take up his next assignment at Roscosmos. If he's stuck in the station too much longer, he may never be able to return to Earth. Why is the new commander dead? Who has the strongest motive to hasten his demise? How was he killed? And who had an opportunity to kill him so the rest of the passengers would never know when it happened?
