The strange and sinister History teacher, Mr. Moruge sends two young teenagers Max and Lucy back in time to 1912 where they find themselves on the deck of the RMS Titanic. They soon become embroiled in the murder of a millionaire businessman and embark upon a series of adventures throughout the ship in their quest to find motives and evidence that will lead them to the identity of the killer. To add further intrigue and adventure to their voyage, just as they're about to set a trap for the killer, the ship hits an iceberg and a desperate fight for survival ensues. In trying to warn and help their friends they must also navigate the dangers and survive the perilous final hours of the great ship. Will they survive? And if they do, is there still time to bring the murderer to justice?
About the Author: Some reviews for Murder on the Titanic: Firstly, I would like to start by saying that the book is very intriguing. It starts in an ordinary classroom to teleporting onto the world's biggest ship of 1912. The way the author introduces the characters is class and makes it even more engaging when he explains the personalities. Kye (aged 12) I have really enjoyed this Titanic murder mystery set on the Titanic in 1912 by the author Marcus Coles. I do really like how the story starts, set in a modern day classroom and then suddenly they are in the Titanic. The book is so well written that you can feel the panic and pressure the characters are feeling when they realise the ship is going to sink, unbeknownst to all of the passengers and crew. Aaron (aged 12) I think Murder on the Titanic is amazing it's like a fact book mixed with a mystery book and a story book. This will be suitable for all ages because it teaches new facts and new interesting words. Also it will help our reading ages go up so I think you should read Murder on the Titanic. Natasha (aged 11) This is an amazing book. Murder on the Titanic is a novel about a horrific, scary teacher named Mr. Moruge who sends two of his students, one very clever and one a risk taker back in time onto the Titanic to solve a murder. I like this book since it teaches the reader about the Titanic. This book is highly enjoyable for a variety of ages and worth the read. Neve (aged 12) Murder on the Titanic is an amazing book created by Marcus Coles. I like this book because it includes historical events but is still packed with action. Moreover, I like it because it is a real conundrum whether they find the murderer or not. I didn't know who the killer was until it was announced. I would recommend this book for people who like to read action-packed or historical stories. Thomas (aged 13) I would recommend this engaging book to a variety of ages as it is highly enjoyable. Murder on the Titanic starts in a modern era and shortly after takes a time-travelling journey to the one and only Titanic! Marcus Coles takes you on an incredible adventure throughout his first novel where you genuinely feel like you are there. Play the detective with Max and Lucy as the super sleuths unravel the mystery. Chloe (aged 13) Marcus is a History teacher from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He is married with three children.
