"Schön ist scheiße" - mit diesem Wortspiel brachte der Dirigent Enoch zu Guttenberg sein künstlerisches Credo auf den Punkt. Guttenberg wollte das Publikum nicht unterhalten, sondern immer aufwühlen, erschüttern und aus der Gleichgültigkeit des kommerziellen Konzertbetriebes herausreißen. So gelangen ihm, dem "Bekenntnismusiker", unverwechselbare Interpretationen großer Werke des klassisch-romantischen Repertoires - zusammen mit seinem Orchester der KlangVerwaltung und der Chorgemeinschaft Neubeuern, die er als dörfliche Liedertafel gegen den Willen seines Vaters übernommen hatte und zu Weltruhm führte. Guttenberg eckte an, auch als Umweltschützer. Das Porträt eines Widerständigen. Pressestimmen Georg Etscheit schildert (...) sehr detailreich, aber auch mit Kritik, Humor und Distanz das Leben Enoch zu Guttenbergs. Zugleich gibt das Porträt in unterhaltsamem Stil einen interessanten Einblick in die vergangenen sieben Jahrzehnte deutscher Kulturgeschichte. (BR-Klassik vom 13.06.2020) Er mochte ihn. Aus jedem Satz spricht eine persönliche Zuneigung. Das ist nur allzu gut verständlich. Wer Enoch zu Guttenberg erlebt hat (...), konnte sich seinem unbeugsamen Idealismus und ethischen Humanismus nicht entziehen.
