About the Book

The Mystery of Docksforth's Treasure is an adventure story full of excitement, adventure, and nail biting cliffhangers. It is intended for young readers between the ages of nine and fifteen. The colorful and exotic setting is a Caribbean island in the early 1960's. The main characters are two adventurous teenagers turned sleuths, a sixteen year-old girl and her eighteen year-old brother. While on summer outreach to a mission in the Caribbean with their parents, they become embroiled in mysterious circumstances surrounding the possibility of pirate treasure buried on the mission property. The story carries the reader away to a culture and time that will fill him with wonder. Woven into the plot are 17th century ruins, caverns, ghostly pirates, snorkeling, and underwater scenes. The theme is "Where your treasure is, your heart will be." As the young detectives try to solve the mystery and find the treasure, it is the spiritual values and strong faith of this family that enable them to overcome the criminal antics of greedy people.
About the Author: Charles Serianni is a retired teacher, youth minister, and missionary. His writings are based on his experiences as an English teacher of thirty-eight years both on the high school and college levels, twenty years as the Director of Teens For Christ, an interdenominational youth ministry, and missionary service throughout the Caribbean and Panama. He also served as the State-side Director of Semillas De Esperanza, a ministry to inner-city youth in the city of Santiago, Dominican Republic. Charles' first book, Guided by a Tangible God, discusses the premise that most people are content to live in the natural world without giving much thought to their spiritual life. As a result, they never experience the power of God in a life. As a result, they never experience the power of God in a real, tangible way. Through the retelling of the miracles he has personally experienced and the spiritual direction given to him, the author challenges nonbelievers and Christians alike to examine what they believe and how they formed their beliefs.
