Mythology tells us of heroes of all sorts. We read of Merlin and Arthur. We hear about how Beowulf fought Grendil. There is Cû Chulainn, Achilles, Lancelot, Robin Hood, Perseus, Mulan, Penelope, Finn, Hiawatha, Boudica, and many, many more. Heroes come from royalty or everyday life. Their backgrounds vary as much as they do. And everyone fantasizes about being one at some point in life. Every child dreams of being a hero. And so now we have a role-playing game that lets us all become heroes... Mythic Hero! With a unique character personality system to help guide players, Mythic Hero includes a combat system based on realistic fighting that is straight-forward and quick to play. Any character can expand their skills well beyond the starting career (if one is chosen), including wizardry! Yet, beware! There are monsters and villains to be overcome in the unique world-system. Magic includes three areas of study; the physical, the mental, and the spiritual... It is magic for the thinking man. Using a percentile (d10) and d6 system, there is a huge variety of play options in this table top role-playing game. Fun for ages 8 and up.
About the Author: Johanus Haidner lives and works in Edmonton, Alberta. Born and raised in Calgary, he has lived in Canada for most of his life. He finished up his MBA while living in Germany and spent a short while travelling around Europe and has also visited Central Asia and a few other countries. He lived in Houston, Texas for two years after completing his university studies. He has been a military police officer, a teacher (grades 4 through 12), a cook, a baker, dealt several games in casinos, made concrete countertops, built a couple of houses while managing a small construction company, worked as a graphic designer and editor, been a technical writer, worked as an internal auditor, a financial analyst, and spent more than ten years as an accountant. He now does small business taxes as his primary income, although his first loves have always been art and writing. Mr. Haidner runs The Academy of European Swordsmanship (the-aes.org / swordsmanship.ca) in his spare time teaching German and English martial arts to people from all walks of life aged seven and up! He is a single dad to a boy and a girl who inspire him every day! And they are his most enthusiastic fans of his artwork as well as the Mythic Hero game. He is working on more supplements to Mythic Hero, as well as writing some children's stories (not related to Mythic Hero).
