Hölderlins Hymnen, Hyperion und Empedokles, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als Philosoph und Dichter, der sich nach seiner Profession in Jena (1794-1795) ausschließlich der Poesie zugewandt hat, liegen den Werken Friedrich Hölderlins (1770-1843), wie dem Tod des Empedokles, bewusstseins- und religions-philosophische Motive zugrunde. Im Empedokles-Drama, welches die Grundlage dieser Arbeit darstellt, stellen die Religions- und Naturphilosophie wichtige Themenbereiche sowohl auf geschichtlicher als auch auf poetischer Ebene dar. Den primären Forschungsgegenstand dieser Arbeit bildet Hölderlins Schrift zum Grund des Empedokles. Bei diesem handelt es sich um einen theoretischen Text, der primär zur Selbstverständigung Hölderlins bestimmt war und die Bedeutung seines Trauerspiels reflektiert. Da die Passage ursprünglich nicht zur Veröffentlichung bestimmt war, kann die komplexe Passage für den neutralen Leser einige Verständnisschwierigkeiten aufwerfen, die hier aufgelöst werden sollen. Nach einer kurzen Erläuterung zur Entstehung und Textkonstruktion des Empedokles-Projekts, indem unter anderem auf die Bedeutung der Tragödie eingegangen wird, soll im Verlauf dieser Arbeit den Fragen nachgegangen werden, was die Natur- und Kunstphilosophie im Grund zum Empedokles aussagt, welche Komponenten sie vereinigt und inwieweit sich diese gegenseitig bedingen oder konträr zueinander stehen. Daraufhin wird eine Verbindung zu Hölderlins Auffassung über Bewusstsein und Geist hergestellt, in der die Zusammenhänge von Poesie, Religion und Mythos diskutiert werden. Sie sollen Aufschluss darüber geben, welches Ziel Hölderlin als Dichter durch seine Philosophie über Natur und Kunst in seinen Werken verfolgt. In einem abschließenden Fazit werden die wichtigsten Erkenntniss
