About the Book

Forest Green has retired after forty years with the same firm, where he served as the Accounts Receivable Manager. With his newfound free time, Forest reaches out to Kendrick Overland, a classmate, to explore potential activities. They decided to organize a class reunion for their 1976 classmates and met at the Blue Duck Tavern. Inspired by their gathering, they formed a group called the Blue Duck Social Club, with Forest as the leader.
The story evolves in a humorous manner as the Blue Duck members naively take actions completely foreign to their experience.
Their first project focuses on addressing the inadequate garbage cleanup on the streets of Detour City. The initiative was highly successful, prompting the group to take on another cause-protesting against high bank fees. Kendrick organizes a nude demonstration at a local bank, which garners attention and achieves its objectives. Forest and the club members were thrilled to have a meaningful purpose.
One of the members, Walter Carrington is concerned about the poor state of roads in the community, which negatively impacted his business and finances. Taking matters into his own hands, Walter organizes a trucker's demonstration causing traffic disruptions in downtown Port Detour. Unfortunately, he used the Blue Duck name and logo, leading to Forest's arrest and charge for the resulting costs.
In response to the deteriorating road conditions, the mayor asks Walter to verify gravel invoices, as the increased spending on roads did not seem to correspond with the poor outcomes. However, before Walter can provide his findings, he dies in a garage accident.
Nora and Susan Enwright, twin sisters who had recently returned to Port Detour following their widowhood, join the Blue Duck Social Club. Nora marries Finley Whitestone, the owner of a gravel pit, while Susan becomes engaged to a local lawyer who is also a club member. Tragically, Finley dies from ingesting poison derived from farm chemicals.
The group undertake an investigation of the deaths and uncover startling information, including a belief that QAnon and a high-level conspiracy may be involved.
The information the group uncover leads to a full-scale police investigation, resulting in a conclusion never seen in the long history of Port Detour.
