About the Author: Steffen de Cassandro, * 1965 in Köthen (Anhalt). Abitur 1985, zwei Berufsabschlüsse, dafür kein einziges Auto. Bis zur Wende in einem volkseigenen Drehmaschinenwerk, folgte nach der gesellschaftspolitischen Umorientierung das typisch ostdeutsche Brechen der Biografie. Tierschutzverein, Jugendclub, Kreisvolkshochschule... heute Teilzeit-Projektleiter der Arbeiterwohlfahrt. Freiberuflich gelegentlich journalistisch, fotografisch, vortragend und seit etwa 2000 als Autor tätig. Erschienen sind drei Teile der sozialkritischen Erzählung um Nicci, das weibliche Wesen mit den echten grünen Haaren, daneben auch etwas Lyrik, Erotik, Kurzgeschichten, jede Menge Artikel und Glossen. Ehrenamtliche Arbeiten sind oder waren u.a. tierschützerisch, sozialdemokratisch, katastrophenschützerisch und eisenbahnhistorisch. Auszeichnungen gab es u.a. für das lyrische Lexikon "Visionen für Europa und die Welt von A bis Z" im Rahmen des Hochschulwettbewerbs "Visionäre gesucht - Europa in 20 Jahren" 2004 (nun veröffentlicht in "Nicci und ihr Trupp") - 2005 folgte der Henry-Dunant-Preis des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes "für Verdienste um Menschlichkeit und Frieden" (gemeinsam mit Schauspieler Klaus-Peter Thiele).
