Janie é responsável pela biblioteca itinerante e adora ler policiais, especialmente os da Agatha Christie. Poderá Poirot ajudá-la a resolver o mistério do desaparecimento de Zara? Ao prorurar pistas, Janie conhece algumas personagens duvidosas, cada qual com uma razão para querer o Joel morto. Conseguirá ela desmanchar a rede de mentiras e encontrar a verdade?

- Ótimo desenvolvimento das personagens, o que nos faz querer saber o que lhes acontece. Muitas peculiaridades adoráveis da década de 1960. O mundo antes do telefone parece fantástico!

- A história passa-se numa pequena cidade à beira-mar chamada Tamarisk Bay e acho que consegue captar o que é viver numa pequena cidade. Funciona bem quando a Janie tenta descobrir o que aconteceu à Zara, mas sem querer que toda a gente saiba que está a fazer de detetive amadora! Tudo isto fez com que eu adorasse a história.

- Adoro a personagem do pai da Janie e a dinâmica entre pai e filha. Tenho a certeza que, se esta história se passasse nos dias de hoje, os ferimentos sofridos teriam sido bem piores e provavelmente teriam levado à morte. Não é por causa da perda da visão que ele desiste e acaba por abrir um consultório de fisioterapia, com a Janie a preencher as fichas dos clientes.

- Janie Juke, bibliotecária local e leitora de mistérios, parece ser a pessoa certa para investigar a morte do Joel e o desaparecimento da Zara. A admiração pela Agatha Christie e pelo Poirot foi a alavanca para usar as suas "celulazinhas cinzentas" e fazer alguma investigação por conta própria!

- Ótimo enredo. Ótimas personagens. Estilo fluído e fácil de seguir. Tenho de confessar que não leio Agatha Christie há décadas e estava preocupada que as referências pudessem parecer ultrapassadas, mas definitivamente não é o caso.
