Der Titel des vorliegenden Buches ist aus einer Wortspielerei mit Nietzsches Aphorismen "Menschliches, Allzumenschliches" entstanden. Auch in "Offensichtliches, Allzuoffensichtliches" soll von einer "Kultur des freien Geistes" die Rede sein. Von einer Kultur des Denkens und Fühlens, die Offensichtliches, allzu Offensichtliches hinterfragt, durchdenkt, bezweifelt. Die das vermeintlich Selbstverständliche als ganz und gar nicht selbstverständlich erfasst, begreift und anschaulich macht. Dazu bedient sich der Autor unterschiedlicher Disziplinen von den Geistes- über die Human- bis zu den Naturwissenschaften; mit ihrer Hilfe sollen verschiedenste Aspekte menschlichen Denkens, Fühlens und Seins ergründet werden. Die äußere Form des Buches ist dem Briefwechsel des Autors mit seiner verstorbenen Frau geschuldet - einem Briefwechsel, wie er tatsächlich stattgefunden hat, jedenfalls derart hätte stattfinden können, einem Gedankenaustausch, der zweier Menschen Zeit von der gesellschaftlichen Erstarrung der Nachkriegszeit über die hoffnungsfrohen Erwartungen der Siebziger-Jahre bis zum Überwachungsstaat der Gegenwart widerspiegelt. Auf diese Weise ist ein Briefroman entstanden, welcher den Dialog zweier Intellektueller reflektiert und, in erster Linie, nicht Erlebtes beschreibt, sondern vorzugsweise Hintergründe beleuchtet und namentlich Zusammenhänge analysiert. Der sich mit Fragen des Seienden, des Seins und des Menschseins beschäftigt. Gemäß den allumfassenden kantschen Fragen: "Was kann ich wissen? Was soll ich tun? Was darf ich hoffen?" Und der in der alles entscheidenden Frage gipfelt: "Was ist der Mensch?" Das vorliegende Buch ist Teil 1 des 2. Bandes einer Romantrilogie; der 1.
