Despite challenges she has faced, Deirdre's optimistic outlook has helped fuel her determination to make a change in her life. Optional Optimism: It's All in How You Look at It-Deirdre's first book-shares her story and approach to embracing optimism with others.

Deirdre is a graduate of Roosevelt University and has worked as a human resources professional for over twenty-five years. Deirdre has been married to her husband David for thirty-six years and they have two daughters, Stephannie and Ashley, and three grandchildren.
