Den sjette bog i Aṅguttara Nikāya, Samlingen af Buddhas nummererede diskurser, samler 649 suttas eller diskurser, hvis emne næsten altid er centreret omkring grupper af seks emner.
Og jeg siger næsten altid, for der er ikke mange emner i teksterne med seks elementer, så mange af dem er tvunget som i kapitel 11 kaldet triader, fordi de netop er det, triader. Og da tre plus tre er seks ... to triader er sat ind, og vi har angiveligt en sekstet, der er klar til at blive indføjet i seksternes bog.
Men vi vil også se, at man kan lave seks ved at lægge en til fem eller to til en gruppe på fire... I AN 6.29 taler han hele tiden om fem ting og ender med at tilføje endnu en for at fuldende de seks.
Selv om denne bog også indeholder suttas, der skal læses, er dens indhold uinteressant, bortset fra de sidste matikas i de sidste kapitler. Det bliver mere og mere klart, at Anguttara Nikaya baserer sin popularitet på sine traditionelt forfærdelige oversættelser, der tvinger læseren til at gå rundt og opfinde ekstrapolationer for at hjælpe ham med at springe abstruse afsnit over og give ham den udefinerede mystiske glorie af det abstrakte.
I afsnittet om anekdotiske suttas har vi AN 6.42 med Nāgita. I den skælder Buddha ud over berømmelse og dens ulemper, såsom vanskeligheden ved at kunne skide eller tisse i fred, med fem hundrede tilhængere, der ikke holder op med at følge dig, uanset hvor du går.

AN 7.92 En Værdig, hvor enhver form for ritual eller ceremoni er kvalificeret som en fejlagtig tro, som værende i stand til at befri fra Samsara.
Sammenfattende ser det ud til, at det møjsommelige og udtømmende arbejde med forskning og rekonstruktion inden for komparativ lingvistik denne gang synes at give nogle interessante oplysninger.
Den ottende bog i Aṅguttara Nikāya, Samlingen af Buddhas nummererede diskurser, samler 627 suttas eller diskurser, hvis emne er centreret omkring grupper af otte emner, men ikke altid.
Denne bog indeholder en bemærkelsesværdig ophobning af vigtige suttas, nogle af dem unikke, hvilket gør den uundværlig i modsætning til den anodine mangel på interesse i de tidligere bøger i denne numeriske samling. Alligevel er det ikke forståeligt, at der i slutningen af bogen er suttas, der gentager tidligere suttas med ubetydelige forskelle.
