Unternehmen, die sich mit den Aspekten des organisationalen Wandels sowie der Erarbeitung und Forderung ihrer Entwick- lungsfahigkeit nicht erfolgreich auseinandersetzen, riskieren, auf absehbare Zeit zu den Verlierern zu gehoren. Arie de Geus (1988) geht sogar so we it zu behaupten, daB Lernen den einzig uberdauernden Wettbewerbsvorteil der Zukunft darstellt. In Anbetracht der groBen Aufmerksamkeit, die das organisationaie Lemen geweckt hat, ist es ein Grund zur Beunruhigung, daB die Definition und Verwendung des Begriffes durch beachtliche Konfusion gekennzeichnet ist. Dabei ist es intuitiv ohne weiteres zu verstehen, daB Organisationen lernfahig sein sollten, urn ihre Wettbe- werbsfahigkeit zu erhalten oder zu erhohen. Schwierigkeiten bereitet allerdings das konkrete Verstandnis des Begriffs organisationaies Lemen vor allem in seiner Abgrenzung zu individuellen Lernprozessen. Die Gleichsetzung der beiden ist dabei vollig unzulassig. Dies ware nicht der erste miBlungene Versuch, von einem indivi- duellen Phanomen auf die Eigenschaften eines gr6Beren Ganzen zu schlieBen.
