"Oxímoron" es el tercer libro de la Serie Roja de Paulo Padrós Garzón, y está formado por hasta el momento sus relatos más oscuros e intimistas, que no dejan de tener un trasfondo de protesta social muchas veces violenta, como podemos ver en "Carta a Raquel," "Claudia y el general" o "El sobre." "Claudia y el general" está narrado durante el trasfondo del difícil y violento período inmediatamente posterior a la muerte del general Perón, en tanto que "Carta a Raquel" se basa en hechos reales sucedidos durante la feroz crisis económica y social sufrida por Argentina durante el año 2001. Muchos de estos relatos fueron escritos en la pre-adolescencia de Padrós Garzón, cuando apenas tenía doce años en adelante, y eso puede verse en fantasías ingenuas pero pródigas como "Una compañía inusual" o "Mirounga leonina." A su vez varios de los trabajos que van formando el oxímoron fueron concebidos a la manera de homenaje a grandes autores como Edgard Allan Poe, ("El sobre," escrito en lenguaje decimonónico), "Dentro del armario," "La tesis del doctor," (un relato irónicamente gore), y nuevamente "Mirounga Leonina" y "Una compañía inusual," con claras referencias a Cortázar en lo irreal pero igualmente atrapante de sus historias, enfocados desde la popias incertidumbres y certezas de sus personajes. "Oxímoron" en tanto, es una clara referencia a El Aleph de Jorge Luis Borges, y así lo hace saber el autor en el libro. En "Los pensadores" podemos ver, como en otros trabajos de Padrós Garzón, una descripción de la soledad de las personas que viven en compañía, pero esta vez los protagonistas se deciden a darle un giro distinto a los acontecimientos para romper precisamente con esa incomunicación que les llevó a levantar los muros de la soledad, y la realidad nunca deja de colarse con su faceta más ardua en "El señor Sorinni," "Cuatro perros," "El sobre" o "Andrea Fernanda," cuento este último que parecería ser más bien un grito de enfado contenido en el cinismo de su protagonista. Ellos sienten lo mismo que nosotros, sufren o se alegran por las mismas pequeñas cosas, pero reaccionan distinto y eso es lo oscuro, lo fabuloso dentro de este libro.
