About the Book

Juliana Pata's mother used to tell her, "Your life is like a jigsaw puzzle and one day all of the pieces are going to fit together." She has written this memoir in the form of notes to folks living and dead who have been important parts of her life. As she says in her letter to "Dear Reader", it is her intention that her audience will reflect on her story and be inspired to share personal stories in a similar format.
About the Author: Juliana Pata is a versatile, dynamic, and creative writer. She began her career as a journalist in 1974 with a Queens, NY weekly, "The New York Voice," and subsequently wrote articles for the "Courier", "The Bayside Times/Ledger", "The Queens Tribune", and "The Valley Advocate", a regional newspaper in Amherst, MA. As a writer and a person involved with the issues of the '70's, she interviewed spawning women Senators who were proponents of the Equal Rights Amendment. She also covered business, mental health and community issues. In 1979-1981 she established her own advertising business in Tribeca, NY, where she wrote print advertising and radio commercial copy. She placed ads for her clients with the "New York Times" and "Village Voice" on a weekly basis. In 1988 she completed her Bachelor of Science degree at SUNY Empire State College's Metropolitan Unit. While attending this unique adult learning college, she did an internship as a writer in the education department of PBS Channel 13 in NYC. She graduated as a "model student". Following graduation, she began teaching writing and publishing workshops at St. John"s University in Queens, NY, for 10 years. She self-published two books called "A Voice in Recovery: Dual Diagnosis," and "The Journal Writing Experience." These publications can be found in the Queens Borough public library system in Queens, NY. The books are also sold at St. Johns. Barnes and Noble, and Queens College. Ms. Pata has written a play called "Faces of Reality", and she loves photography. Her biography is listed in Marquis' publication, "Who's Who in America 2002" and in the publication "Who's Who in American Women 2003." Ms. Pata's newest book, "Parts of Me, A Collection of Letters", is a compilation of personal letters she has written to special people here on Earth and in Heaven.
