About the Author: Mr. Gregory T. Kavounas has been a US patent attorney for over 20 years. While working in law firms he procured patents in numerous technologies for his clients, and published articles on how patents could be written more effectively. While working in-house for various companies, he managed all patent aspects, plus he studied the organizational dynamics of how inventions become patent value. He has also published articles on how Senior Management could affect these dynamics for pursuing different patent strategies.
Mr. Kavounas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California Institute of Technology, a Master of Science degree and an Engineer degree in Electrical Engineering (Electrophysics-Optics) from University of Southern California, a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School (LA), and an Executive MBA from Seattle University. Mr. Kavounas is a Senior Member of IEEE, and he worked as an engineer before becoming a patent attorney.
