Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love
the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
Similarly, 1 Timothy 6:10 says, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted
after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." The love
of money in 1 Timothy 6:10 means the avarice of money, and avarice means "fond of silver." Ezekiel
28:18 says that Lucifer was the fifi rst sinner, which was a monetary sin "by the iniquity of your trading."
Money has always had a spiritual side to it. "In God We Trust" is printed on the U.S. dollar bill.
Salvation comes with a payment of a ransom (Mark 10:45) and Jesus' precious blood for our redemption
(Colossians 1:14). The economy in the world is run by "buying and selling," but the economy in
the Kingdom of God is motivated by "giving and receiving." This di erence is why Jesus took a whip
to the money changers in the Temple yard (John 2:13-16) because it was the wrong venue for buying
and selling, as it was God the Father's house of prayer. People use money to enhance their Personality
Traits, such as for safety, control, freedom, romanticism, magnetism, and other obsessive-compulsive
disorders. This book reveals these Personality Traits of Money disorders, with historical fifi gures and
biblical examples of men and women with the avarice love of money. You may take a confifi dential test,
and you may fifi nd that you have some of the insidious Personality Traits of Money, but even more, after
recognizing your disorder, you can take the necessary steps to be free from the obsessive-compulsive
disorder you may have. You also can recognize these Personality Traits of Money disorders in other
people, so you can avoid being enticed into feeding their addiction of money. Until you deal with your
Personality Traits of Money, for your protection, God is not going to prosper you. 3 John 2 says, "Beloved,
I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even (equal to) as thy soul
prospereth." If you are a Believer, and if you lack soul spiritual prosperity, then you will also lack
financial prosperity.
