About the Book

Andrée Garnier Ploss is a person of two distinctly different cultures: French and Algerian. Born in French Algeria in 1944, she was imbued with Christian, Jewish and Algerian religions. She experienced four years of terror during the Algerian rebellion against the French. Abandoned by her father during this time of upheaval, Andrée, with her mother and younger sister, fled to France in 1956. The author, in 1963, left France for the United States of America to be later joined by her mother and sister. There she would pursue the aspiration of being a writer. She has written novellas and poems in English and French, and is the author of Little French Girl Pied-Noir, 'Curé Chanson' published on-line in 1999. She became a United States Citizen in 1968. She is also a language tutor, technical translator, bi-lingual writer and an impressionist artist in pastels and water colours. Andrée strives throughout her writings to show that universal human aspirations of friendship, thrust and love know no boundaries. She believes that any child must be protected, secured and cherished regardless of culture, background and faith. Today, the author works at home (a cattle ranch along historic Route 66 in Oklahoma) with her husband, Richard.
