1940 - 1945. Stuttgart im Luftkrieg. Der Autor Hartmut Geerken blendet zurück in seine traumatische Kindheit. Seit Jahrzehnten hat Geerken verschüttete Erinnerungssplitter aus jener Zeit ausgegraben und in Notizheften festgehalten. Diese "Splittersammlung" ist das Ausgangsmaterial von "phos". Tagebücher eines damaligen Hausbewohners, historische und aktuelle Ereignisse, Träume, Auschwitz, Reisenotizen, Fundstücke, persönliche Befindlichkeiten, alles geht ein in den Text, doch eine Opfer-Täter-Relativierung steht außer Diskussion. "phos" (griech. Licht) ist die Abkürzung von Phosphor, zerstörerisches Element in Brandbomben und homöopatisches Mittel nicht nur gegen Hitzewellen, sondern auch zur Heilung von mouches volantes und Nebelsehen. Ein Literaturverzeichnis, ein umfassender Index, vor allem aber zum ersten Mal eine dokumentarische Liste von mehr als 200 Bombenangriffen und Fliegeralarmen auf das "deutsche Coventry", wie Stuttgart genannt wurde, machen "phos" zu einem zeitgenössisch literarischen und gleichzeitig zeitgeschichtlichen Kompendium, das auch auf den Wahnsinn heutiger Kriege hinweist. Die 53 schwersten Bombenangriffe auf Stuttgart, die fast achtzig Prozent der Stadt in Schutt und Asche legten, bilden die 53 Kapitel von "phos". Jedes Kapitel beginnt mit einer vielstelligen Zahl, die das Datum und die minutengenaue Dauer jedes Angriffs bezeichnet. Darauf folgt jeweils der Name dieses bestimmten Tages nach dem Mayakalender.
About the Author: Geboren 1939 in Stuttgart. Studierte Orientalistik, Philosophie, Germanistik und vergleichende Religionswissenschaft in Tübingen und Istanbul. Lebte 1963-1983 in der Türkei, in Ägypten, Afghanistan und Griechenland. Autor, Komponist, Musiker, Schauspieler. Herausgeber zahlreicher Autoren aus dem Umfeld von Expressionismus und Dada. Mitglied des "Bielefelder Colloquiums Neue Poesie". 1991/92 Poetiklehrstuhl an der Folkwang Hochschule Essen. Auszeichnungen: Münchner Literaturjahr (1984), Schubart-Literaturpreis (1986), Karls Sczuka-Preis für Radiokunst (1989 und 1994). Zahlreiche Buchveröffentlichungen, Kompositionen, Tonträger, Filme, Hörspiele. Lexika: Kürschner, Kindler, Who's Who, KLG, Kunisch/Wiesner u.a.
