In the first volume of A Piece of Nese, Ms. Trinese "Nese" Robinson recounted her early years, which were often full of joy but sometimes fraught with danger. After her husband was murdered in a home invasion, leaving her the single mother of four, Nese thought the worst was over. Unfortunately, she was wrong.
In part two of her memoir, Nese discusses everything that came next. The eleven years since Jamonie's death brought much hardship and trauma, but friends and family rallied around to support her. In her new book, Nese honors those she has lost and everyone still along for the ride.
A common thread in Nese's life story is her struggle with chronic illness. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer four times and has undergone radiation treatment, chemotherapy, and surgery. But despite Nese's frequent battles with adversity, her optimistic spirit shines through in her anecdotes and poems.
Nese describes her writing as being like a puzzle. She pulls bits and pieces from different emotionally charged moments in her life and examines how these events have transformed her. Nese was "made in Oakland," and she invites readers to learn just exactly what that means!
About the Author: Ms. Trinese "Nese" Robinson has dealt with many challenges throughout her life.
